Aldermaston to Woolhampton

Did the long version of this SWC walk (117), and very enjoyable it was. Maybe use the short version for my nest Ramblers walk. Long walk pub stop not cheap and a bit slow, but otherwise fine. Good picnic spot across the road.

Henley via Stoner Circular

Dis the long version which was a good walk, but with some awkward road bits. Great pub in Pishill well worth having a proper lunch - probably best for saturday or weekday. We got the 0905 from Ealing.

Stonegate Circular

An SWC walk (TOCW2 19). Use the Bear Inn (great view, fast service) rather than the Rose & Crown. Also take a short cut to avoid road walking unless desparate for the Wheel Inn (currently closed). Would make a good ramblers walk.

Cholsey to Goring

Lovely, if long (14 miles) walk, with good trains from Ealing and a nice pub for lunch.

Tring Circular

Has a similar start to other Tring walks and was very good if hilly. I had thought it would be good for the Ramblers, but there is not a good picnic spot by the pub in Gaddesdon.

Laindon Circular

SWC walk 114

Not very promising on paper, but not a bad walk. Also had the novelty of a Fenchurch Street start. The Bell Inn was friendly but fully booked (Sunday), cold soup and a bit up-market. Could try the Swan next time.

Aggressive horses in the after lunch session!

Frant to Tunbridge Wells

This is good walk with a morning of open countryside and an afternoon of woods. It's a short walk option of  SWC Walk 19 Tunbridge Wells Circular. A good pub, but all the tables were booked when we arrived on the Sunday. However we managed with the bar, and the reservations were for particular times, and you could use the table up and till then.

Tunbridge Wells is a good place to finish, with a fast service back to London. Easy access to Cannon Street from mansion House. Might use is it for a WLR walk.

Did this for WLR in March and very muddy. Better in the summer and also for bluebells
