Tring to Berkhamsted (WLR version)

I lead this walk for the West London Ramblers and it will be well worth repeating. We did it in November, getting the 0950 from Shepherds Bush, which got us home in good time. This walk was derived from TOCW2 Walk 5 Tring Circular.

Sole Street Circular

This is a nice 8 mile circular variation of TOCW2 walk 17 Snodland to Sole Street. Even with a 1021 start we were home in good time. The lunchtime pub is The Amazon & Tiger, which was good value with small medium and large options for the Sunday roast. Annoyingly hit had the radio on.

Even better, there is a pub next to the station to wait for the train in.

Would work as a Ramblers walk.

Ockly to Warnham

This is a lovely walk, though the morning was continuous rain. It would make a good walk for the Ramblers.

St Margarets Circular

This didn't look too promising, but in the end was a delightful walk. The 1012 train got us to lunch at 1330, so an earlier train or taking an earlier short-cut would be better. The village has two pubs and we ate in the White Horse (Greene King), which was good value. However the Chequers is in the good beer guide and has plastic bags for walkers boots - worth a try next time.

Peterfield to Cocking

This was an enjoyable walk, but a bit unbalanced, with too long an afternoon section. This ended up with poor bus to train connections making for a very late return home. Not worth repeating but the Downs section has tremendous views.

Pulborough circular

A lovely walk, but quite long. Allow 25 mins to the station from the finishing pub (if you know the way!). Would probably be too muddy in winter. SWC walk 14.

Saunderton Circular via Bledlow

This was an excellent walk, on a winters day, with the threatened rain holding off. We had to maintain a good pace to make it before dark, but well worth it. Good lunchtime pub TheLions of Bledlow. SWC walk from Book Two (walk 2).
