Wanborough to Godalming

Along the River Wey

Godalming Church Yard
A 7.5 mile walk in Surrey. About 25 people startted the walk, but soon broke up into smaller groups as there are a few places to visit on the way. I stuck with a 'lets keep walking' group. You can visit the Watts Gallery, and I think I will have to do that next time I'm on a walk through there. Lunch stop was The Withies Inn, a delightful stop with a 'back in time' air about it.

We ended with tea and cakes at Cafe Mila in Godalming - charmingly inefficient - recommended.

Reading to Henley

leaving Reading
This was a pleasant Saturday walk along the Thames Path, starting from Reading Station. We had an early lunch stop after just 3 miles at the Bull Inn Sonning. Lovely beer and watch your head on the beams. Not a cheap eat!

The path continues to Shiplake, with an option to catch a train, or take another break at the Baskerville Arms and a good pint of Timothy Taylor.

From there just a couple of miles to Henley for tea and cakes at the  Chocolate Theatre Cafe Bar (they are on the river, and were called The Henley Tea Rooms) before the train home.
